This is one of my greatest joys as a midwife. I love watching a maiden become a mother trusting her intuition, and strengthening her knowledge and body as she prepares to be transformed into a mother. She has to search and dig deep into her own abilities, but also be willing to reach out and ask for help. She often has to ask hard questions and there is so much vulnerability! The final result is a beautifully strong, empowered mother who trusts that she is the answer to her child's needs, or that she can research and find the answers or resources needed.
Many of the women are already mothers who didn't have the chance to gain this intuition in their pregnancy and birth experience. So they are reborn into mothers who feel capable and trust their intuition.
